What is the Big School Ready Program?

The transition from Early Education to Primary School is a big step for children and families.

TeamKids have developed a program to help make this transition smoother, fun and less stressful.

The program was developed after consultation with early educators, prep/foundation teachers, principals and parents who highlighted the skills required for a successful transition to primary school.

The focus of the Big School Program is for children to develop confidence, independence and resilience by participating in fun, age appropriate activities during in-house and incursion days throughout Summer. All prep children will engage in a small group activity with focus on different skills such as, problem solving, self-regulation, literacy and numeracy games.

The activities have been created help reinforce what children would have learnt while they where at their Early Childhood Program as well as introducing some new skills to practice like problem solving in the playground.

All prep/foundation/kinder children will be enrolled in this program when you book into a TeamKids Summer School Holiday Program (B&A schools only). Your child will get to enjoy all the other TeamKids activities on the day as well as participate in Big School Activities. There is no extra cost for families.
